Born 1-18-1810, Lost Creek MM, Jefferson County, Tennessee.2,3,4,5,6,8,10,11,12 Evan was born on the same day as his third cousin, Ruth Hinshaw.
On Apr 16 1835 Evan purchased 80 acres of land in Madison County, Indiana.13 In this land record he was described as "Evan Hinshaw of Blount County, Tennessee".13
Just one month later, on May 20 1835, Evan purchased an additional 40 acres in Madison County.13 In this land record he was described as "Evan Hinshaw of Wayne County, Indiana",13 which seems to indicate he had at least temporarily moved to Indiana by 1835.

Under an assessment of one and one half percent was brother Charles Hinshaw.17
