Born Jul 2 18621 [about 18642], Struer, Jutland, Denmark1.
Note: although George's birthdate has been published as Jul 2 1862, it seems more likely that he was born in late 1860. On Aug 27 1861 George's mother was issued a U.S. passport "to be accompanied by her child a boy about 1 year & 10 month old".3 However when he and his mother and sister returned to the U.S. in 1867 George was recorded as age 5 (making him born about 1862).4
George lived in Brooklyn, New York.1,2
In the 1920s and 1930s, George was the editor of "Brooklyn Life", a weekly publication. He was a marvelous writer and commentator, and also took a keen interest in sports, especially yachting and tennis. George's sister, Cornelia Gracie, also wrote for "Brooklyn Life".5
George and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 19 1930), 79 State St., Brooklyn, New York:2

George Herbert Henshaw died Oct 11 1937, buried Nov 6 1937, Section 101 Lot 670, Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, New York.6,7
George's obituary made no mention of a wife or children.6
