At Richland MM on 10-9-1856, Benjamin was released as he had married contrary to discipline.1

It has been written that Benjamin and family migrated in 1886 to Kansas, with son Tillman remaining in Iowa and living near Woolson.8  However the 1880 census data (below) seems to contradict that report - it appears that Benjamin and family migrated to Kansas sometime about 1880.2,12

Note that there is apparently an error in the abstracts of the records of Richland MM ("The William Wade Hinshaw Index to [Iowa] Quaker Meeting Records"): The children of Benjamin Hinshaw and Nancy McCracken are shown associated with Benjamin Hinshaw and Nancy Carter, in error.1  There is no evidence that Benjamin Hinshaw #375 and Nancy Carter were ever members of Richland MM.
