At White Lick MM on 3-14-1849, William was granted a certificate to Pleasant Plain MM, Iowa.10  

At Pleasant Plain MM (Iowa) on 4-14-1849, William was received on a certificate from White Lick MM, Indiana dated 3-14-1849.1  

William purchased 100 acres of farmland in Keokuk County, Iowa, and then returned to Indiana, where he was married.13  

He married Louisa Stather11 [Louisa Stocher11, Louisa Stockes14,15, Louisa Stalker1,8,10,16,17], Nov 2 185011, Hendricks County, Indiana11.  Louisa, daughter of George Stalker & Hannah Millikan, was born Aug 1 1828, North Carolina.1,2,13,18  

At White Lick MM on 4-16-1851, Louisa Hinshaw (formerly Stalker) was reported married out-of-unity and condemned her misconduct.10  

At White Lick MM on 10-15-1851, Louisa & daughter Lucinda were granted a certificate to Pleasant Plain MM, Iowa.10  

At Pleasant Plain MM on 1-10-1852, Louisa & minor daughter Lucinda were received on a certificate from White Lick MM, Indiana dated 10-15-1851.1  

At Pleasant Plain MM on 7-9-1853, William & family were granted a certificate to Richland MM, Iowa.1  

At Richland MM on 8-11-1853, William & wife Louisa & minor daughter Lucinda were received on a certificate from Pleasant Plain MM dated 7-9-1853.1  

William and family were shown in the 1860 census (Jun 25 1860), Richland Township, Keokuk County, Iowa:3

Living next door in 1860 was the family of brother Benjamin.19  

Louisa died Dec 9 1863, buried Friends Cemetery, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa.1,2,13,20,21  

He then married Sarah Haworth1,2 [Sarah (Haworth) Crakel13,18, Sarah (Haworth) Crakaal22, Sarah (Haworth) Crakoal6], Jul 28 18641,2.  Sarah, daughter of Eli Haworth & Lydia Dillon, was born Oct 25 1829, Indiana.1,2,6,18  

Sarah had been previously married to an Augustus Crakoal/Crakaal6,22,23 (James Augustus Crakaal),24 by whom she had children:

James R. Crakaal, born Mar 2 1848; married Charity A. Hockett (children: Alfred A., Sarah A., John H., Annis E., Pearl and Alta Crakaal). 22,23,24
Eliza Ann Crakaal, born c1854; married Jan 17 1872, Benjamin H. Hadley (children: Aura C. and Darrel Hadley). 22
Annis E. Crakaal, born c1856; married Oswald Greeson (children: Orba and Arval Greeson). 22,23
Lydia Mariah Crakaal, born Jul 28 1858. 23
Melinda C. Crakaal, born Dec 1 1860. 23
Augustus Crakaal had served with the 8th Iowa Infantry and died May 4 1862 as a P.O.W. in Montgomery, Alabama.25

In politics William was a Republican and he served his township as clerk and trustee.13  He belonged to the Friends church.13  

William Hinshaw died Oct 13 18851,2,20,21 [Oct 11 188513]; buried Friends Cemetery, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa1,2,20,21.  

Sarah died Jan 15 1896, buried Friends Cemetery, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa.1,20,21,27  

Sarah's obituary was published in "The American Friend" on April 23, 1896 (page 404).27
