John was a graduate of Ferris Institute and was a pharmacist. He worked for his uncle, A. W. Brown for many years, eventually buying the drug store in 1957. John was a Mason, member of the the Michigan Pharmaceutical Association and a former volunteer fireman.8

WILLMORE, HELEN L.-- Of Stockbridge, MI, aged 96, passed away January 1, 2007 at the Stockbridge Country Manor. She was born on September 22, 1910, in Leelanau County, Leeland, MI, the daughter of Harry and Frances (Blackburn) Hinshaw. After graduation, she attended Western State Teachers College and began her teaching career in Traverse City. In 1931, she joined the Stockbridge First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved her town of Stockbridge. On May 11, 1934, she married the love of her life, John C. Willmore, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1991. Surviving are two grandchildren, Ted Price of San Francisco, CA and Lee Ann (Jack) Cubberly of Stockbridge; and two great-grandchildren as well. She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Richard) Price. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Shannon O'Leary officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Stockbridge First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 p.m.
