He married Gulielma Thomas^1,2,4,13 [Guilielma Thomas², Julia E. Thomas^9,12,13], Mar 31 1859^1,2,4,13, Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana^1,2,4,13.  Gulielma, daughter of Nehemiah Thomas & Phebe Gilbert, was born May 13 1842, Clay Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.^{2,3,4,5,6,9,10,12,14}  

At Cherry Grove MM on 5-14-1859, Zimri, Lynn meeting, was complained of for marrying contrary to discipline.  "6-11-1859 retained membership".²  

At Cherry Grove MM on 6-11-1859, Guilielma (formerly Thomas), Lynn meeting, was reported married contrary to discipline; "7-9-1859 condemnded her misconduct".²

At Cherry Grove MM on 2-12-1881, Zimri, Gulielma, Isabel, William R., Harry, Laura, Wallas, & Ethel "set off to" Long Lake MM, Michigan² (however note that they had been shown the year earlier, in the 1880 census, already living in Michigan, so this might have been an after-the-fact request for a certificate of removal).

Z. E. HINSHAW PASSED AWAY COUNTY CLERK OF LEELANAU COUNTY MANY YEARS FAILING HEALTH TWO YEARS PROMINENT CITIZEN AND OF FACIAL HIGHLY RESPECTED Came to Traverse City From Ohio When Twenty Seven Years Old Settled in Leelanau and Is Well Known.    (Special to the Evening Record) Leland Mich. Oct 10 Z. E. Hinshaw county clerk of Leelanau county, died Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock after failing gradually for two years.  Funeral will be held Saturday morning at ten o’clock.   Mr. Hinshaw was born sixty seven years ago in Ohio and when twenty seven years of [age] came to Michigan making his home in Traverse City.  The deceased lived here about twenty years removing then to Cedar Run where he lived six years, thence to Bingham where seven years was passed and lastly to Leland where he held the office of county clerk for the past six and one half years.  The deceased leaves a widow and six children.  Mrs. Stillwell of Rapid City, Mrs. Fannie Adsit of Traverse City; Russell Hinshaw of Bingham; Waldo Hinshaw, Ethel Hinshaw and Harry Hinshaw of Leland.   Z. E. Hinshaw was one of the oldest and best known pioneers of this region respected and loved by all who knew him.

Gulielma died Dec 13 1919, Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan.⁴
