CARTHAGE MINING MAN DIES AT 71
Carthage, Mo., Dec. 11.
Joe N. Hinshaw, 71 years old, a widely-known Carthage mining man, died at 7:45 o'clock last night at his home, 1117 Sofia street. Mr. Hinshaw had been ill the last several months, suffering from undulant fever.
He was born March 28, 1876, at Nevada, and had been a resident of Carthage for 44 years. Mr. Hinshaw was employed several years in the Webb City-Carterville and Joplin mining fields. He was a member of the First Baptist church here.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jennie Hinshaw; two sons, Elza Hinshaw of Joplin and George Hinshaw of Baltimore, MD; a brother, George Hinshaw of Vinita, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Alverdia McGannon of Joplin; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The body was received by the Knell mortuary.
