He declared he was born May 17th 1887 in Milan, Alabama, and was then residing in Eufaula, Oklahoma. where he was married with two children under three years old. He claimed an exemption due to "wife and 2 children". He was recorded as medium height, slender, brown eyes, black hair.5
George Richard Henshaw died Oct 16 1918, buried row 35 section A, Greenwood Cemetery, Eufaula, McIntosh County, Oklahoma.4,6 George was a victim of the 1918 influenza epidemic.3 George's gravestone is inscribed with "Thy trails ended, thy rest is won".4
