Get detailed map, (43k) (including depths). Tampier Lake is located at 131st and Wolf Road. You can rent canoes and rowboats from the Forest Preserve District between May and October. Tampier Lake is on of our favorite lakes. The people there tend to be fishing, boating or picnicking. You'll rarely hear radios blasting or any ruckus other than a game of volleyball. There is no swimming allowed in the lake. There has been one drowning in 96 related to swimming from a boat. My son Andrew and his friend explore a sandbar at Tampier Lake (Sometimes the above sandbar is inches underwater)
