She married Clememt W. Rockel3 [Clem W. Rockel4,5], 19033. Clememt was born about 1872, Illinois.3
Clem had been previously married on May 20 1891 to Maytie Trader,6 by whom he had daughters Reba and Josephine.3
No children from this marriage.
Laura and Clem were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 2 1920) Radnor Township, Peoria County, Illinois:3
Rockel, Clement W., head-of-household, age 48, born in Illinois; parents born in Ohio; owned home; farmer.
Rockel, Laura J., wife, age 39, born in Illinois; father born in Illinois; mother born in Ohio.
Rockel, Reba, daughter, age 22, born in Illinois; parents born in Illinois.
Rockel, Josephine, daughter, age 20, born in Illinois; parents born in Illinois.
Clememt died 1934, Dunlap, Peoria County, Illinois.5
Laura Jane Hinshaw died Apr 21 1954, Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois; buried Dunlap, Peoria County, Illinois.2,4,5 Medical: Laura died from a stroke.7
Laura's obituary was published in the Bloomington Pantagraph on Wednesday, April 21, 1954, as follows:5
Mrs. Laura Rockel
Danvers -- (PNS) -- Mrs. Laura Rockel, 74, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington. She entered the hospital Friday. She had been an invalid since a stroke four years ago. Her funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Otto-Argo Funeral Home. The Rev. D.R. DeVeny will officiate, and burial will be at Princeville. Mrs. Rockel was born near Danvers Feb 2, 1880, a daughter of Charles N. and Anna Smith Hinshaw. She was married to Clem W. Rockel of Lexington in 1903. He died at Dunlap in 1934. Surviving are four brothers, Ben Hinshaw, Danvers; Charles, Lilly; Don, Farmington, and Bert, Peoria; two step daughters, Mrs. Bess Garrett, Lexington, and Mrs. Josephine Fritz, Princeville, and a stepson, Claude Rockel, Peoria. Two sisters and five brothers also preceded her in death.
