Mrs. Laura Rockel
Danvers -- (PNS) -- Mrs. Laura Rockel, 74, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington. She entered the hospital Friday. She had been an invalid since a stroke four years ago. Her funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Otto-Argo Funeral Home. The Rev. D.R. DeVeny will officiate, and burial will be at Princeville. Mrs. Rockel was born near Danvers Feb 2, 1880, a daughter of Charles N. and Anna Smith Hinshaw. She was married to Clem W. Rockel of Lexington in 1903. He died at Dunlap in 1934. Surviving are four brothers, Ben Hinshaw, Danvers; Charles, Lilly; Don, Farmington, and Bert, Peoria; two step daughters, Mrs. Bess Garrett, Lexington, and Mrs. Josephine Fritz, Princeville, and a stepson, Claude Rockel, Peoria. Two sisters and five brothers also preceded her in death.
