Bert B. Hinshaw, 60 of 1403 N. Madison Ave., Peoria, a former Bloomington and Danvers resident, died of lung cancer at 3:40 p.m. Friday at Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He had been in failing health more than three years and in the hospital four days.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Davison Funeral Home in Peoria. The Rev. Dan Demmin will officiate and burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born near Danvers Nov. 22, 1896, a son of C.N. and Anna E. Smith Hinshaw. He married Dessa Prather in St. Louis June 19, 1916. Before moving to Peoria 34 years ago he was an employee of Corn Belt Lumber Co. in Bloomington. The last 15 years he has been a warehouse clerk at LeTourneau-Westinghouse in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harold, Chicago; Donald, Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Van Dusen, Elmwood; Mrs. Hazel Freeze and Mrs. Harriett Sheppard, Peoria; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Charles and Ben, Danvers; Don, Farmington. A son, four sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.
Dessa died Sep 3 1986, Peoria, Illinois; buried Sep 6 1986, Peoria, Illinois.1
