Harry lost one eye as a young adult when a chip injured his eye while chopping wood.4  

He married Emma "Midge" Gassner.4,5  Emma was born about 1886, Illinois.6  

On Sep 12 1918 Harry Lamont Hinshaw, age 36, registered for the World War I draft in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.  He declared he was born January 6 1882, and was then residing in Danvers, McLean County, Illinois where he was a self-employed farmer.  He declared his nearest relative was Emma Hinshaw of Danvers.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, brown hair.3  

Harry and Midge were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 17 1920) Danvers Township, McLean County, Illinois:6

Hinshaw, Harry, head-of-household, age 38, born in Illinois; father born in Illinois; mother born in Pennsylvania; farmer.
Hinshaw, Emma, wife, age 34, born in Illinois; father born in Illinois; mother born in Indiana.
Living next door in 1920 was Harry's widowed mother with his brother Ben and sister Mary.  

Midge was a nurse.4  She had graduated in 1904 from Brokaw Hospital School of Nursing.5  

Harry Lamont Hinshaw died Apr 17 1943, Partridge Township, Woodford County, Illinois; buried Washburn, Illinois.2,7,8
