Wayne O. Hinshaw

DANVERS -- Wayne O. Hinshaw, 79, of 801 Gregory St., Normal, formerly of 10 Linwood, Bloomington, and Danvers, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 27, 2002) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.  

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Danvers.  The Rev. Rob Roy will officiate.  Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the memorial home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Park United Methodist Church, Bloomington, or to Evergreen Place, Normal.  

He was born on July 25, 1923, in Danvers, the son of Benjamin H. and Alma H. Anderson Hinshaw.  He married Eloise E. Greider Bowers on Oct. 13, 1989, in Bloomington.  She survives.  

Other survivors include one son, Gary (Janet) Bowers, Danvers; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Hoormann, Steedman, Mo.; one stepson, Jim Tosh, Bloomington; and one stepdaughter, Jeannie (Tony) Phillips, Normal; one sister, Doris Grimm, Cresco, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  

His parents and one grandson preceded him in death.  

Wayne was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, Bloomington.  He was a member of the Danvers Lions Club and Eagles Lodge, Bloomington.  Wayne had farmed in the Danvers area.  He was a Moorman's Seed Dealer for a number of years.  He had formerly worked at the Eureka-Williams Co., Bloomington, retiring in 1987.  He collected farm toys and antiques.  He was well known as Santa Claus in the Danvers area.  He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
