Born Sep 12 18941,4,7,8,9,10,11 [Sep - 18952,12], near Boxley, Hamilton County, Indiana1,4,7,8,9,10,11.
As a youth, Glen first helped on his father's small farm, then hired out as a farm hand for neighbors, making hay, shucking corn, and the like. Before he married, he "rode the rails" out west, doing odd jobs as necessary.1
On Jun 5 1917 Glen Harrison Hinshaw, age 22, registered for the World War I draft at Washington Township, Miami County, Indiana. He declared his residence as RR 9106, Peru, Indiana. He was recorded as medium build, medium height, blue eyes, brown hair.10
In 1917 Glen was called into the army during World War I. But before shipping overseas, he contracted the flu and almost died. The war ended before he had to ship-out. Returning home, he rented a farm.1
He married Edith Marie Spray, May 29 1920.1,8 Edith, daughter of William D. Spray & Lula Mae Hanna, was born Apr 22 1898, Indiana.1,2,8,13,14,15,16
Edith was a thin, tallish woman who suffered from an undiagnosed disease with symptoms similar to tuberculosis. She thought this was the result of the flu she contracted in 1918.1
Glen and family apparently temporarily moved to, or visited, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Glen and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 17 1930), 609 East Garfield Ave., Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico:3

During the 1930s Glen got a job with the post office in Lebanon, Indiana, from which he eventually retired.1

Stella had lived in Boxley, Indiana, since she was 8 years old and was the daughter of the village blacksmith.1 She had two children from her previous marriage: Robert O. Palmer and Norma (Palmer) Quick.1
In 1986 Glen and Stella were living in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana.7
Stella died Feb 8 1986, Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana.1,7
Glen Harrison Hinshaw died Jul 31 1994, in a nursing home in Crawfordsville, Madison County, Indiana; buried Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana.1,7,17
