She married John Meigs, Jan 18 1781, Fair Haven Church, Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.2,3,6,7,8,9  John, son of Jonathan Meigs & Grace Starr, was born 1753, Middletown, Connecticut.3,6  

John served as a lieutenant in Colonel Samuel B. Webb's regiment, Connecticut Line, during the Revolution.  He was a member of the original Society of the Cincinnati.  His brother, Return Jonathan Meigs, was a distinguished colonel.3  


Return John Meigs, born Aug 30 1782; died Augusta, Georgia; unmarried.
Benjamin Henshaw Meigs, born Mar 27 1784; married Ellen Vandyke, of N.Y.
Elizabeth Lord Meigs, born Dec 8 1785; died Apr 28 1792.
Richard Montgomery Meigs, born Aug 8 1787; married Maria Keeler.
Sally Maria Meigs, born Mar 28 1789; married Dr. Erastus Williams.
Esther Lopez Meigs, born Feb 24 1791; married Nov 25 1809, Solomon Lusk.
Joseph Henshaw Meigs, born May 18 1793; lived in Clarksville, Georgia.
George Lord Meigs, born Feb 23 1796; died in Knox, aged 50.

John died 1826, Hartford, Connecticut.3  

After John died, Elizabeth moved to Farmington, Connecticut, about the time her daughter Esther married Thomas Lee, Esq.6  Elizabeth drew a pension from government of $280.00 per annum.6  

Elizabeth Henshaw died Mar 5 1847, age 95, marked by a large red stone monument.3,6
