Born 11-2-1780, Marlborough, North Carolina.1,3,7  

He married Eunice Gifford1,3,7 [Unice Gifford1], 10-15-18011,3,7, Deep River MM, North Carolina1,3,7.  Eunice, daughter of Jonathan Nathan Gifford & Eunice Beard, was born Jun 20 1778, Guilford County, North Carolina.1,2,4,7,9  Eunice Gifford descended from two Mayflower lines.  Her paternal grandmother's parents were both Mayflower grandchildren.2  

At Deep River MM on 7-7-1806, Jesse, Eunice & family were granted certificates to Center MM.1  

Eunice died 8-9-1820, Marlborough MM, North Carolina.1,4,7  

He then married Milli Primm1,3,6,7 [Milly Primm1, Armilla Prim3,6, Armella Prim6, Armelia Prim6, Armilla Primm2,7, Armelly Prim7, Milley Price3,8,10], 1-17-18221,3,6,7, Marlborough MM, North Carolina1,3,6,7.  Milli was born 4-8-1803, Randolph County, North Carolina.1,7,8  

Jesse & Milley's marriage was noted on Friday, February 8, 1822 in the "Raleigh Register":8,10

At New Salem, Randolph County, on the 17th of the previous month, Mr. Jesse Henshaw, age 46, was married to Miss Milley Price, aged 19.

At Marlborough MM on 2-1-1845, Jesse & family, and "Milly, daughters Betsy, Luzena & Louisa" were granted certificates to Bloomfield MM, Indiana.1  

Jesse had been a shopkeeper at New Salem, Randolph County, North Carolina.  Before Jesse removed to Indiana, he turned his business over to his son Jesse G., including assets (accounts receivable and stock) as well as associated liabilities.2  

At Bloomfield MM on 5-7-1845, Jesse & wife Armilla & children Cyrus Clarkson, Betsy Luzena, Louisa Jane & John Milton were received on certificates from Marlborough MM, N.C.7  On 5-7-1845 Bloomfield MM recorded:11

A certificate of membership was received from Marlboro Monthly Meeting Randolph County N.C. for Mille Hinshaw and her children Namely, Cyrus Clarkson, Betsy, Luzena, Louisa Jane, and John Milton bearing date 2nd mo 1st 1845.

At Marlborough MM on 3-1-1845, a complaint was forwarded to Bloomfield MM "to treat with Jesse for secretly leaving the country".1  On 5-7-1845 Bloomfield MM recorded:11

Received from Marlborough Monthly meeting N.C. a communication requesting this meeting to treat with Jesse Hinshaw on a complaint for failing to fulfil engagements and for secretly leaving the country.  David Hadley and Solomon Allen are appointed to visit and labor with him on said complaint and report their judgment of the disposition of his mind to next meeting
On 6-11-1845 Bloomfield MM recorded:11
The friends appointed at last meeting to visit and labor with Jesse Hinshaw reported that they had an opportunity with him to satisfaction and he produced an offering to this meeting condemning his deviation which was read and after a time of deliberation was received.  Lot Lindley and David Hadley are appointed to inform Marlborough monthly Meeting the result of this Meetings labor in his case and report to next monthly meering.
On 8-2-1845, Marlborough MM recorded that "Bloomfield MM reported that Jesse had condemned his deviations".1  

At Bloomfield MM on 8-8-1849, Jesse & wife Armilla & son John Milton were granted certificates to Sugar River MM.7  

At Sugar River MM on 4-27-1850, Jesse & son John Milton, and Armelly were received on certificates from Bloomfield MM.7

Jesse Hinshaw died Apr 4 1853, buried Green Lawn Quaker Cemetery, Franklin Township, Montgomery County, Indiana.13  

Widow Milli was shown in the 1860 census (Jul 14 1860) living in the household of daughter Louisa in Howard Township, Parke County, Indiana:14
