In 1920 Clyde (with his widowed father and sisters)14 had been living next door to Edith's aunt Harriet;25 Edith and Clyde probably met somehow through that connection.26  

On Jun 5 1917 Clyde Printus Wiser, age 29, had registered for the World War I draft in Gridley, Butte County, California.  He declared he was born April 7th 1888 in Manly, Iowa, and was then residing in (or near) Gridley, California, single, a self-employed farmer, with a dependent father.  He claimed an exemption due to "Physical Disability".  He was recorded as medium height, stout, blue eyes, brown hair.11

Living next door in 1930 was Clyde's widowed father, Henry C. Wiser, age 82;6,26 also living a few houses away in 1930 was the family of Edith's uncle, Charles Allen Hinshaw.27

On Apr 27 1942 Clyde Printice Wiser, age 54, World War II draft in Oroville, Butte County, California.  He declared he was born April 7 1888 in Mamlay [sic], Iowa, and was then residing in Manzanita District, Gridley, Butte County, California, a self-employed fruit rancher.  He declared his relative/contact was Mrs. Edith Wiser of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'8" tall, 175 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion.15  

Clyde died May 1 1964, Yuba County, California; buried Section 4 Block 3 Lot 476 Space 7, Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Highway 99, Gridley, Butte County, California.8,10,28,29  

Edith Anita Hinshaw died Jun 4 1977, Shasta County, California; buried Section 6 Block 1 Lot 2 Space 1, Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Highway 99, Gridley, Butte County, California.4,8,9,10
