Martha died Mar 11 1999, Maryfield Nursing Home, Jamestown, North Carolina.5,8  

Martha's obituary was published in the "The Greensboro News & Record" (Greensboro, North Carolina) on March 13, 1999:18

HIGH POINT - Mrs Martha Safrit Hinshaw, 86, a resident of Maryfield Nursing Home and formerly of East Lexington Avenue, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at the nursing facility.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, 1999, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church by Father Joseph C. Zuschmidt, O.S.F.S.  Interment will be in Oakwood Municipal Cemetery.  A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Cumby Eastchester Drive Funeral Home by Father Jack Kelly, O.S.F.S.  Mrs. Hinshaw was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Cabarrus County to Henry Monroe and Margaret Cress Safrit.  Mrs. Hinshaw is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Regina Howard and her husband, John of Carrollton, Texas; five sons, John J. Hinshaw, Jr. of Frisco, Texas, Phillip Joseph Hinshaw, Michael Francis Hinshaw and Matthew Glenn Hinshaw, all of High Point and Andrew Monroe Hinshaw of Greensboro; a sister, Mrs. Ella Cruse of High Point; also 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will follow the service Sunday, until 9 p.m., at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
