A marriage bond was recorded for Benjamin Hinshaw, Jr. [sic] & Ruth Carter on Oct 9 1814, Surry County, North Carolina.    Benjamin Hinshaw (probably uncle Benjamin) signed as the recorded bondsman.36
On August 26, 1837, Benjamin bought 174 acres of land in what is now Fall Creek Township, Yadkin County, perhaps half a mile west of what is now the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church (where he and his parents are buried).42
