East Peoria - James R. "Jim" Hinshaw, 72, died at 8:23 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2000 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services or visitation. Schmidt-Haller Funeral Parlors is in charge of arrangements. He was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Danvers to Ira E. and Effie P. Prather Hinshaw. Surviving is one sister, Thelma (Robert) Sinks of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Hinshaw was a machine operator at Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of UAW Local 974. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
