He was recorded as medium height, medium build, light blue eyes, light brown hair.⁶ During World War I Charley served as a Private in the U.S. Army.⁸

He married Lola Ethel (Brewer) Waller, Aug 17 1919, Hollytree, Jackson County, Alabama.¹ Lola, daughter of Joseph Lee "Bug" Brewer & Lula Viola Martin, was born Jun 22 1900, Alabama.^1,2,5,7,8
