Stanley Henshaw

He married Eva N. Waterman, Dec 25 1897, Rhode Island.⁸ Eva was born about 1869.⁹

On Sep 12 1918 Stanley Henshaw, age 44, registered for the World War I draft in Greenville, Washington County, Mississippi. He declared he was born Feby 8 1874, and was then residing on So. Shelby in Greenville, a self-employed cotton broker. He declared his nearest relative was Mrs. Stanley Henshaw of the same address. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, grey eyes, "some grey" hair.⁶

Stanley was educated at Brown University⁵ (class of 1896).¹⁰ As a young man he moved to Greenville, Mississippi and organized the Stanley Henshaw Cotton Company, later forming the Henshaw Sanders Company of Providence, Rhode Island. He also founded the South-wide Cotton Spinners Association.⁵

Stanley Henshaw died Sep 23 1950, at his home, Natchez, Mississippi; age 76.^4,5

Stanley's obituary was published in "The Newport Daily News" (Newport, Rhode Island) on Tuesday, September 26, 1950⁵ (see scan below).
