There was a smaller turnout on the second day ... Alan and Christina had done R2R2R the day before and had no desire to go back again (wimps!) ... Five other people dropped out with various ailments and excuses, so we were down to 9 out of the planned 14 people (not counting the ones who had dropped out prior to the trip) ... 36 percent is a pretty good kill ratio; I'll take that any day. I was nursing a bunch of blisters on both feet after performing extensive self-surgery the previous night, but had to press on as the intrepid hike leader or risk getting thrown into the canyon by an angry mob.
