He married Margaret Ann Ratcliff, Jan 19 1809, Ross County, Ohio.1,3,4,6,9,15,16  Margaret, daughter of Amos Ratcliff & Eleanor Cashatt, was born Sep 12 1790, North Carolina.2,3,12,14  

Note that John's brother Joseph married Margaret's sister Sarah Ratcliff.  

At Clear Creek MM (Ohio) on 10-28-1813, Margaret condemned her marriage contrary to discipline.6  

On Apr 28 1814, "The Scioto Gazette" (Chillicothe, Ohio) published a list of letters at the Hillsborough post office awaiting claim; among the recipients was John Hinshaw.17  

On Apr 6 1818, Amos Ratcliff and "Elinor, his wife", sold 50 acres of land in Highland County, Ohio to John Henshaw.18

On Jul 25 1823, John Henshaw and Margaret, his wife, sold 50 acres in Highland County, Ohio to Thomas Cashatt.21  

On Feb 10 1824, Thomas Cashatt and Ann, his wife, sold to John Smith 50 acres in Highland County, Ohio "on which John Henshaw now lives".21  (This was presumably the same 50 acre parcel that was originally deeded to John in 1818).22  

At Clear Creek MM (Ohio) on 9-11-1824, Margaret was granted a certificate to Newberry MM.6  

At Newberry MM (Ohio) on 10-28-1824, Margaret was received on a certificate from Clear Creek MM dated 9-11-1824.6

Margaret died Feb 17 1860, "Age About 69 Yrs".12,13,30
