He married Rachel Hodgin^1,5,6,9,10 [Rachel Hodgson⁶], 12-20-1838^1,5,6,9,10, Cherry Grove MM, Randolph County, Indiana^1,5,6,9,10.  Rachel, daughter of Joseph Hodgin & Ruth Dicks, was born 1819, North Carolina.^1,2,3,4  

Note that Rachel's brother Tilnias Hodgin married Solomon's sister Rachel.  

At Cherry Grove MM on 6-12-1847, Solomon & family were granted a certificate to White River MM.¹  

At White River MM on 7-3-1847, Solomon & Rachel & sons Ira, Benjamin F., & Philander were received on a certificate from Cherry Grove MM.¹  

Solomon and family were shown in the 1840 census, Washington Township, Randolph County, Indiana.¹¹  

Solomon and family were again shown in the 1850 census, then living in White River Township, Randolph County, Indiana:⁴

Solomon Hinshaw died Feb 2 1873^2,3,9 [Feb 2 1872¹⁹]; buried Jericho Cemetery, Wayne Township, Randolph County, Indiana^2,3,9.  

After Solomon died, Amy remarried to her brother-in-law, Tilnias Hodgin, widower of Solomon's sister Rachel.³  

Amy and Tilnias and family were shown in the 1880 census (Jun 17 1880), Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana:¹⁷

Tilnias Hodgin died Jan 13 1884, Earlham, Richmond County, Indiana.^2,3,20  

Widow Amy was shown in the 1900 census (Jun 16 1900), living with her sister in White River Township, Randolph County, Indiana:¹⁸

Widow Amy was shown in the 1910 census, White River Township, Randolph County, Indiana:²¹

Amy died Sep 20 1915.³
